Not good looking but very useful, created by Destructor95, ToolJail 1.3 is a small application that guides you to jailbreak and unlock you iPhone and iPod touch. It also guides how to enter DFU and recovery mode and how to downgrade the firmware.  It’s not the jailbreak or unlock tool but it tells you how to do it by easy tutorials.

Laggy but working. The guy in this video was able to run Windows Phone 7 Series on HTC Touch Diamond. Actually it’s not really ported to HTC touch diamond, the hacker was able to make it run using Remote Desktop Protocol. So this doesn’t give an idea about how good is WP7 Series on HTC Touch Diamond.

jailbreak firmwareumbrella has noticed something in the latest iPhone firmware. The shsh file has a new key named APITicket. It hints that with this key, Apple can stop us from bypassing their TSS server for local restores like restoring the jailbroken firmware.

So a guess is that in future version of iTunes, the TSS request/response will be handled by the original bootrom of the device. This can stop users from restoring the jailbroken firmware.

If you have seen MIX 2010 keynotes, remember when Bill Buxton spoke on Natural User Interfaces. As an example, an immersive digital painting application was shown off. It is a Microsoft Research Project named “Project Gustav”.

Channel9 invited guys behind Project Gustav and made this cool video demonstrating the awesome tablet PC painting application.

GeoHot, the first ever person to unlock and jailbreak the iPhone, has done it again. In the video above, he claims to successfully untethered jailbreak all families of iPhone, iPod touch and probably iPad. The jailbreak works for all iPhones and iPod Touches running 3.1.3 firmware including old and new bootrooms.

If you don’t know me, I use to blog at ProgrammerFish. Few days ago I left it and started this new blogProgrammerFish was co-founded by me with my friend Salman-Ul –Haq about year and a half ago when we were ‘trying out’ pro-blogging and later it became a serious business.

Why I have started a new blog?… because from now on I want to do it differently. It’s a fresh start to cover technology news and write programming tutorials. Stay tuned and push your suggestions to help me know what you want :)
