In a recent Microsoft and Nokia’s joint press conference, it was announced that the future Nokia devices will be Windows Phone 7 devices and Symbian will be left out.

I was a huge fan of Nokia until Symbian started to suck and awesomeness of iOS and Android emerged. And then there is Windows Phone 7, a new player in market that has a great potential and I simply love it.  Now with Windows Phone 7 as a primary operating system on Nokia devices, Nokia seems to be returning back to the awesomeness required for the modern mobile devices.

Nokia, the largest mobile phone manufacturer, has lost the position of top smartphone platform maker that they had for 10 years. Google is now the leading smartphone platform maker followed by Nokia and Apple. The research firm Canalys published this survey on Monday reporting that 32.9 million handsets are running on Google platform.

The variety of phones that Nokia suites every class of buyers and Nokia is still the largest mobile phone manufacturer. But when it comes to smartphones, Nokia has lost it.

I don’t know if Neil Patrick was mocking hand held gamers or showing his obsession with Angry Birds by making a real life version of the top selling mobile game that could not even get nominated in the best handheld game category. So I guess he was mocking as I can understand the feeling of hardcore gamers who just play such cheesy games during boring lectures when you have to kill the time for keeping yourself away from post study disorders.

Shot with Nokia N8 and edited in iMovie. This video entitled as ‘A Spider-Man short’ is the lamest but funny stop motion video shot with the Nokia N8. If you find anything lamer than this, I loose. Smile

Nokia has a big market share in Pakistan. I was invited in the Nokia N8 launch in Pakistan even that was good enough to bring my attention back to Nokia. Imran Khalid Mahmood (country General Manager of Nokia Pakistan and Afghanistan) and Henri Mattila (Head of Category Marketing, Mobile Computer Nokia MENA) were the main speakers of the event. They highlighted the achievements and happenings at Nokia. Nothing new about what Nokia has planned in future was unveiled.

N8 is considered to be the entertainment smartphone running Symbian^3. Noticeable features are the Carl Zeiss lens 12 MP camera, HD video recording, HDMI output for HD videos, web TV and AMOLED capacitive touch screen.

You must have seen this video. She tells you that she is hot, actually sizzling hot, before the unboxing begins.

She turns out to be blonde too with colored hair when at 0:53 we see the box is already open and at 1:07 she says “so lets look inside the box” and opens the box (noticed by C00LD0CT0R).
