At D9 today, Microsoft demoed Windows 8 for the first time. This next version of Windows blends the current Windows UI with Immersive UI. Immersive experience is Metro UI designed specially for Tablets and touch screens. Windows 8’s UI is designed to scale from small to large screens with or without touch support, keyboard or mouse. The immersive experience is much similar to the Metro UI in Windows Phone 7 but enhanced to be suitable for tablets and touch panels.
Previously leaked by CNBeta, History Vault is a feature in Windows 8 that works like Time Machine in Mac OS X. The previously leaked build of Windows 8 (7955) appears to have History Vault feature in function.
Immersive UI, the idea of Windows Phone 7 like Metro-based UI (for tablets maybe), is leaked to be a key feature in Windows 8. Recently Windows 8 build 7955 got leaked in the wild and shows Immersive UI for the web browser. See the screenshots:
Someone known as ‘Andy’ has posted the details about the leaked Windows 8 build 7955 on BetaArchive. Milestone 2 of Windows 8 ended at build 7 v950 and we can say this this build is an earlier version of Milestone 3. Previously build 7850 was leaked 5 months ago.
