MerryCode just got a new design. For simplicity and more focus on content. And, Oh! we didn’t post anything for last 6 months. Sorry if you cared. Life got hard on me and I became busy. All other writers were temporary and are gone for now. One of them said he has better things to do in life. I am still sticking to this blog because I love it. Opened my dusty closet and picked up a dusty box and blew away the dust. That box is this blog. I then revamped it for a new look (Because I am a designer and it’s sexy). I tried many things while I was away from the closet. I tried launching an iOS app but Apple didn’t approve it, finished my college, watched all episode of How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory, tried getting a wife and not to be the forever alone guy but none of them worked to get me inner peace. So I will now continue writing here whatever I find cool. If you are still reading this, write a comment and make me smile please.

Mikko H. Hypponen, the Chief Research Officer of F-Secure Corporation did a video reportage searching the first ever PC virus creators at Lahore, Pakistan. The first ever computer virus was a computer program named “Brain” having a system to avoid replications of this program that came on a floppy disk.

The whole idea worked like the principals of a computer virus program so the authors Farooq Alvi and Basit Farooq Alvi who wrote “Brain” for MS DOS are considered as the creators of first ever computer virus in 1986 that spread out in the world via floppy disks. Watch the video:

Mozilla has just released Firefox 4 beta 5 for download. It comes with Graphics acceleration feature along with some other features. Firefox 4 Beta is based on the Gecko 2.0 Web platform.

The obvious difference that you will notice, when compared with Beta 4, is the redesign of the reduced menu. It seems similar to Chrome and is not using graphical elements for copy, cut, and paste, this is apparently made to simplify the use of the browser on touch screens (keeping in mind the growing trend of Tablets).

As Ramazan, which is considered Holy by Muslims and holds significance in Islamic World, is approching, Nokia has Launched Apps designed specially for the Muslim world.

The Apps which are now available on Ovi Store for download, are developed by AsgaTech, a Forum Nokia Premium Partner in the Middle East, with all content reviewed and approved by Al Azhar University.

According to Nokia’s press release, these Apps will be available for free in some Muslim countries, which in my opnion is a good Marketing move for Nokia’s popularity in the Muslim world but apart from these countries these Apps are little expensive.
