Mozilla has just released Firefox 4 beta 5 for download. It comes with Graphics acceleration feature along with some other features. Firefox 4 Beta is based on the Gecko 2.0 Web platform.
The obvious difference that you will notice, when compared with Beta 4, is the redesign of the reduced menu. It seems similar to Chrome and is not using graphical elements for copy, cut, and paste, this is apparently made to simplify the use of the browser on touch screens (keeping in mind the growing trend of Tablets).
This Beta version also comes with hardware acceleration (available on Windows only) which appears to be activated by default. See video below.
Some new Features in this release are listed below:
- Firefox 4 Beta 5 is available in 39 languages.
- Support for the new proposed Audio Data API
- Direct2D Hardware Acceleration is now on by default for Windows 7 users
- Firefox button has a new look for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users
- Support for HSTS security protocol allowing sites to insist that they only be loaded over SSL.
- See the complete change list from the previous beta.
There are also whole bunch of other features from previous Firefox 4 Betas releases. System requirements are also same as in earlier versions.
