Sn0wbreeze 1.8 beta is available now and supports jailbreaking iOS 4.1 Beta on iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) that is already jailbroken on iOS 4.X, iPod touch 2G (non MC model) and iPod touch 3G. Before you go for the guide you must know:
- This jailbreak is for iPhone 3GS(old bootrom) that is already jailbroken on iOS 4.X and iPod Touch (non MC), 3G only.
- If you are an unlocker then stay away from this release. The unlock for this jailbreak is not available yet. The unlock is now available, you can unlock by following this guide:
Unlock iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G/3GS running baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07,05.12.01 and 5.13.04 with Ultrasn0w
- I will not be responsible for any loss of your device while attempting this jailbreak, do it on your own risk
- It is recommended to save your SHSH blobs so that you are able to downgrade to the earlier version of iOS 4.X if you are having problems. Check out our How to save SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) of iPhone 4 running iOS 4.
How to jailbreak
- Download and install iTunes 9.2 if you haven’t.
- Download iOS 4.1, download according to your device from here.
- Download sn0wbreeze 1.8 beta and run it.
- Click next and select simple mode and then click next again.
- In IPSW selection window, browse for the downloaded iOS 4.1 firmware file and click next.
- If firmware is verified by sn0wbreeze, you will see a verification notification. Click next after that.
- Sn0wbreeze will now modify your firmware and when it is done, your firmware is jailbroken and ready to be restored. It will also rename the firmware file adding ‘sn0wbreeze_’ prefix.
- Run iTunes and restore your device to the modified iOS 4.1 by holding Shift Key (Windows) or Option Key (Mac), Clicking restore and browsing the modified iOS 4.1 firmware file.
