Dell_Inspiron_N5010-T561206_Win7Basic_2491I recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my Dell Inpiron N5010 laptop and I was not able to install Wi-fi driver on it. None of the driver available on Dell support website was working for me. Following errors occurred while I tried to install the Wi-Fi driver.

  • No compatible hardware found.
  • The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed.
  • This software package cannot be installed on your system.
  • No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed.

When these type of errors occur, It is a general misconception that the problem might be with the Wi-fi adapter. Dell Inpiron series does not contain any Intel or Dell wireless adapter. It has broadcom wireless device in it so broadcom WLAN 5603506 driver is the actual driver for Dell Inpiron series. So, the drives available on the Dell website are different that might not install on the Inspiron series laptop.

The solution is to install the open broadcom drivers. You can download this driver from here.
