I recently posed about the release of iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. iOS 4.0.2 to fix the PDF exploit. The latest version of Ultrasn0w (1.1-1) can unlock iOS 4.0.2 on iPhone 3G. Here is the complete step by step guide on how to unlock iPhone 3G running iOS 4.0.2 by using Ultrasn0w.

How to unlock
- Jailbreak your iPhone 3G, checkout our complete guide on how to jailbreak iPhone 3G using Redsn0w.
- Now you need to hactivate your iPhone. Since Ultrasn0w doesn’t has hactivation support. If you have the original iPhone carrier supported SIM, you can easily activate your iPhone. If you don’t have orignal iPhone carrier supported SIM, check out this guide by Redmond Pie to do SIM card activation trick.
- Run Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone 3G.
- Tap ‘manage’ at the bottom of the screen and then ‘click Sources’
- Tap the ‘edit’ button at the top right of the screen and then tap ‘Add’ button on the top left of screen.
- Enter http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com as the source of URL and tap ‘Add Source’ button.
- When your done with adding source, tap ‘Return to Cydia’ button and press the ‘Done’ button at the top right of the screen.
- Select http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ from the list of user entered sources and select ultrasn0w from the list of Packages.
- Tap ‘Install’ button at the top right of screen and then tap ‘Confirm’ to start the installation.
- When installations completes successfully, restart your iPhone.
- After reboot, hold the ‘home’ button and power off the iPhone and then turn it on again while you hold the ‘home’ button.
- Done, you can now enjoy your unlocked iPhone.
