Nokia has a big market share in Pakistan. I was invited in the Nokia N8 launch in Pakistan even that was good enough to bring my attention back to Nokia. Imran Khalid Mahmood (country General Manager of Nokia Pakistan and Afghanistan) and Henri Mattila (Head of Category Marketing, Mobile Computer Nokia MENA) were the main speakers of the event. They highlighted the achievements and happenings at Nokia. Nothing new about what Nokia has planned in future was unveiled.

N8 is considered to be the entertainment smartphone running Symbian^3. Noticeable features are the Carl Zeiss lens 12 MP camera, HD video recording, HDMI output for HD videos, web TV and AMOLED capacitive touch screen.
Nokia says the N8 has received highest amount of pre-orders in the history of Nokia. I had a chance to get my hands on the device, my overall experience was fine but not satisfying. The UI was simplified and smooth as compared to other Nokia devices. In my opinion it’s the best Nokia phone (I said the best ‘Nokia’ phone) but overall I am not a fan of Symbian. I was a fan but got spoiled. I am really looking forward for MeeGo to be adapted by Nokia devices (that Nokia has planned) because developers are loving it.
